Downtown Rescue Mission Bargain Center of Meridianville

The Downtown Rescue Mission opened its fourth Bargain Center in Meridianville, Alabama on Thursday, November 17, 2005. The store is located at 12024 US Hwy 231/431 three miles north of Huntsville in Meridianville, between Windmill Beverage and Star Market.

“We expect to see people come to the store from all across North Madison and Southern Giles Counties in addition to North Huntsville,” comments Roger Kitchen Jr., Senior Director of Operations. “We receive a lot of calls from those areas to donate merchandise to the store. In some of those towns we only go once a week or not at all to pickup, now we can go as much as we want with our trucks,” he adds.

The mission has grown tremendously over the last five years. They now serve more meals and have their beds slept in more than any other Gospel Rescue Mission in the state. It is essential to find alternate and creative ways to raise funds to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless in Northern Alabama and Southern Tennessee.

The store will sell quality, brand name used clothing, furniture, bedding, house wares, electronics and appliances at the store. In addition, the store will also accept vehicle donations for resale. All the proceeds from the store will go directly to the mission to provide food, clothing, shelter and Christian education in the name of Christ to the homeless in the Tennessee Valley.

The Downtown Rescue Mission is fully financial accountable and invites anyone to inspect our financial records during business hours.
