Proverbs 19:17 "He who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his good deed."
"Note the original greatness of the thought. We give to the poor. Have we lost our gift? No, what we gave, we have lent to the One who will repay with interest." Albert Barnes
Without the financial support of the Tennessee Valley we can't fulfill our mission statement. We exist to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless by providing food, clothing, shelter and education to break the homeless cycle in the name of Christ.
We receive no federal, state or city financial aid. Our ministry operates on donations from private citizens, businesses and churches. Here is a snapshot of our ministry expenses to care for the homeless.
One meal costs $ 1.84 to serve. 50 meals cost $92.00. 100 meals cost $184.00
To care for a man in our program for one day: $25.63
To care for a woman and 2 children for one year: $39,994.66
To feed everyone at the Downtown Rescue Mission for one year: $289,406.74
